Dining on a Budget

Sydney’s ‘cheap eats’ dining scene is booming. It’s not expensive to enjoy fresh, beautifully prepared food every day in Sydney, where prices for main meals range anywhere from $6 at small eateries to $15 at local cafes and small restaurants.

While Sydney is famous for its fine dining and ability to attract internationally-renowned chefs, our multicultural city also boasts a rich variety of cuisines for the more budget conscious. Within close proximity to the ICC Sydney precinct and surrounding hotels, COSPAR delegates can taste the flavours of authentic and inexpensive Indian, Asian, Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisines.

In addition, just a short stroll from ICC Sydney, the busy streets of Chinatown (Australia’s largest Chinatown) continues to be a popular dining and entertainment precinct, with theatres, restaurants and shops pulsating into the night. Night owls will find inexpensive eateries open until 3am or 4am and many shops open late also.

Over the following pages are just some of the eateries within 20 minutes’ walking distance to the Assembly venue for delegates who wish to dine on a budget.
